J-Docs Hub aims to nurture documentary creators in Japan who can work and thrive on the international stage.
The first stage is Learning, where participants will acquire practical skills in project development, directing, fundraising, and language proficiency — all essential to bringing their works from Japan to the world.
Next comes Networking, which goes beyond learning. Participants will have opportunities to attend international industry events and film festivals, experiencing firsthand how documentaries are produced, developed, and presented globally.
Finally, in the Creating stage, we will support the development of projects by emerging directors and producers, helping them refine their ideas and prepare for international co-production and distribution.
This is a collaborative, participatory initiative. Together with participants, we will build a three-stage program.
